Opportunity
The Vice President, Organizational Design (VP) serves as a senior consultant responsible for developing and implementing innovative solutions that enhance organizational performance, effectiveness, and culture. Core focus areas include strategic planning, organizational assessment and design, process efficiency, and organizational transformation and change management.
The VP is recognized as a subject-matter expert and trusted advisor by clients and colleagues. The role leads multidisciplinary project teams and manages and is responsible for generating revenue across multiple markets. The VP contributes to practice and firm leadership by developing intellectual capital, supporting business development, improving quality, mentoring staff, and fostering an inclusive, equitable work environment.
The VP also provides strategic oversight of assigned client relationships, partnering with Client Managers to maximize value and profitability. Success requires strong collaboration with the OE Practice Leader, OE colleagues, and consultants across other Segal practices.
Work is performed in support of client and research projects under the direction of experienced project managers. This is a client‑facing role and requires significant travel within the United States.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead large-scale client engagements, including project planning, design, staffing, budgeting, and execution to ensure effective delivery and successful outcomes.
· Drive business development, Achieve annual revenue and growth targets leading or supporting efforts to win new work and grow revenue and profitability with new and existing clients.
· Maintain a disciplined, high‑value pipeline; apply CRM rigor, analytics, and continuous improvement to elevate proposal quality and win rates.
· Manage senior‑level client relationships, primarily with HR and business leaders, and expand relationships to executive and C‑suite stakeholders.
· Provide subject-matter expertise in strategic planning, organizational assessment and design, process efficiency, and organizational transformation/change management.
· Serve as the primary client advisor, managing day‑to‑day interactions, guiding key decisions, and ensuring client satisfaction.
· Develop thought leadership, including best practices, methodologies, publications, and presentations that enhance the practice’s intellectual capital.
· Coach and mentor staff, contributing to capability building, professional development, and modeling effective leadership behaviors.
· Provide strategic guidance on complex client and business challenges; contribute to thought leadership, intellectual capital, and best‑practice innovation.
Key Requirements:
· Minimum 10 years of external consulting experience.
· Experience may come from professional services, corporate, or public-sector environments, with a strong background in organization and people effectiveness programs.
· Demonstrable success in client development and revenue generation
· Demonstrated mastery in strategic planning, organizational assessment and design, process and organizational efficiency, and organizational transformation/change management.
· Proven experience applying organizational design and effectiveness expertise across diverse sectors, including middle‑market corporate environments, higher education, and non‑profits.
· Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Word, with the ability to use data and analysis tools relevant to organizational design and consulting work.
