If you’re looking for an ethically rewarding career, G4S ESS is where it will happen.   About the Role As a Data Engineer with the G4S Employment Support Services sector, you will develop, construct, test and maintain architectures such as databases and large-scale processing systems. You will also be accountable for building, maintaining and optimizing data pipelines to ensure data is clean, reliable and accessible.  You will support ETL process, ETL development, warehouse development and data hygiene enhancement, ensuring all activities are rooted in value and help to drive performance.   The Ideal Candidate We are looking for a Data Engineer with several years of direct experience in Google Cloud Platform Data Engineering. You will be a Stakeholder Leader who can transform the way a business uses it's data.  Strong Google Cloud Platform data toolset skills are essential, with experience using BigQuery, Looker etc.   Other Key Responsibilities - Design and implement scalable and robust data pipelines to support analytics and data processing needs. - Work closely with the Data Architect/Team Lead to Develop and maintain database architectures, including data lakes and data warehouses. - Ensure data quality and consistency through data cleaning, transformation and validation processes. - Collaborate with data analysts to gather requirements and deliver data solutions that support business objectives. - Optimise data retrieval and develop dashboards and reports for various user needs. - Analyse data and prepare reports to guide ETL process improvement with specific focus on the reduction of technical debt as well as enhancement of automation and data hygiene. - Work collaboratively with colleagues to locate and define new process improvement opportunities.  - Support colleagues to learn to use and interpret operational systems and reports correctly. - Ensure complete documentation of all Data Team processes, activities and projects. - Conduct analysis to evaluate the success and the effectiveness of key programmes and initiatives.  - Support achievement of contractual requirements.  - Work collaboratively with Operational Leaders to support reporting systems and to monitor improvement initiatives.  - Support legacy ETL and data systems to ensure robust daily reporting. - Support the Data Architect in client facing calls where technical detail is required. - Contribute to the continuous improvement of the Data Strategy, Data Quality and technical excellence of the business. - Produce reports and analysis to meet a timetable or deadlines set by  your Line Manager. - Interpret data, analyse results and provide ongoing reports and high level data insights to decision makers.  - Adhere to and inform the Data Governance Policy and internal and external compliance standards and regulations.
