About the position
The Analyst for NAACP Capital will support the day-to-day operations of the venture capital fund, focusing on fundraising efforts, managing key stakeholders, and supporting portfolio funds and companies. This role requires familiarity with venture capital and investment-related activities, as well as strong organizational and communication skills.
Responsibilities
• Function as the "front door" for fund questions, responding to email and phone inquiries and resolving or routing appropriately.
• Support fundraising efforts, including compiling and updating fundraising trackers, drafting correspondences, scheduling meetings, and sourcing new targets.
• Manage and regularly update investment materials, including versions of the pitch deck and other key documents.
• Conduct research and provide insights to support the development of the fund strategy and execution.
• Support fund communications, including regular updates to Limited Partners and other key stakeholders.
• Develop pipelines of managers and startups for investment consideration.
• Develop operational strategies to support the eventual portfolio of fund managers and startups.
• Interface with key stakeholders, including the fund's vendors and service providers.
• Attend relevant investment meetings and conferences to support the fund.
• Support team workflow through project management and monitoring, calendar and scheduling.
• Perform any other duties as assigned by the Managing Director or other designee.
Requirements
• 2-4 years' work experience with a demonstrated ability to adapt and be successful in a variety of environments and roles.
• Minimum of a BS degree.
• Alignment with the fund's mission.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Superior writing skills.
• Strong proficiency in the MS Office 365 suite and in building presentation decks (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Zoom, and Trello.
• Strong proficiency in financial modeling using Excel or other software.
• Experience being part of a fundraising effort, whether in venture capital or other areas of finance.
• Strong interpersonal skills.
• Highly organized and comfortable with the use of workforce tools to manage workflow and projects.
• Based in Los Angeles or willing to relocate to Los Angeles.
• Willing to co-locate with the Managing Director and team, up to 3 days per week.
• Willing to travel (up to 10%).
• Ability to prioritize and execute multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work in a fast-paced environment.
