Job Title: Remote Intervention Specialist
Location: Remote (Serving K12 students in Ohio)
Employment Type: Full-Time 1099 Contract
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide virtual specially designed instruction in accordance with students Individualized Education Programs (IEPs)
• Develop and implement IEPs in compliance with Ohio Department of Education guidelines and IDEA
• Conduct assessments to determine eligibility, monitor student progress, and guide instructional planning
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, and families to support inclusive practices
• Facilitate and participate in virtual IEP meetings, progress reviews, and parent conferences
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation including IEPs, progress reports, service logs, and communications
• Adapt curriculum and instructional materials to meet the diverse needs of learners
• Use digital tools and learning platforms to deliver instruction and manage student data
• Participate in professional development and stay current with state and federal special education regulations
Required Qualifications:
• Valid Ohio Intervention Specialist License (Mild/Moderate, Moderate/Intensive, or other applicable endorsement)
• Bachelors or Masters degree in Special Education or related field
• Experience teaching or supporting students with disabilities (virtual experience preferred)
• Strong knowledge of special education laws and compliance in Ohio
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage a virtual caseload effectively
• Reliable internet connection and a professional home office setup
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience with virtual learning platforms (e.g., Google Classroom, Zoom, ClassDojo, Canvas)
• Knowledge of assistive technology and online accommodations
• Familiarity with data collection and progress monitoring tools (e.g., ProgressBook, Frontline, IEP Anywhere)
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Experience supporting students with autism, ADHD, learning disabilities, and emotional/behavioral needs
