The Fabrication and Vendor Coordination Specialist plays a critical role in delivering next-generation, mission-critical data center infrastructure by serving as the driving force behind off-site fabrication performance. This fast-paced, field-focused position puts you at the center of daily operations across 5–6 fabrication yards, where you will proactively solve problems, accelerate production, ensure quality excellence, and keep critical components on schedule. You will be the trusted bridge between vendors and construction leadership, directly influencing project success through real-time decision-making, hands-on coordination, and disciplined reporting. Job requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, fabrication oversight, or vendor management within data center, industrial, or other mission-critical environments.
- Background in QA/QC, construction management, or field supervision.
- Strong understanding of prefabrication processes, including mechanical, electrical, piping, structural steel, or modular assemblies.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret construction drawings, shop drawings, specifications, and submittals.
- Proven experience managing multiple vendors simultaneously in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to proactively identify issues and drive resolution across cross-functional teams.
- Experience supporting large-scale data center or mission-critical construction projects.
- Familiarity with commissioning requirements and turnover documentation processes.
- Working knowledge of NEC, applicable mechanical codes, and relevant fabrication industry standards.
- PMP or other construction-related certifications (preferred but not required).
- Proficiency in construction reporting and documentation tools (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, MS Project, Excel).
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel daily between multiple fabrication facilities.
Other important requirements:
- Pre-employment screening, including background check and substance testing may be required according to company policies.
- Must provide own steel-toed work boots; other PPE will be supplied.
- Must be able to reliably commute to the work site daily or have plans to relocate before starting work.
- This is a primarily field-based role requiring daily travel between multiple fabrication facilities.
- Work environment includes active fabrication yard settings as well as office-based reporting responsibilities.
- Extended hours, including early mornings or evenings, may be required to meet project schedules and production demands.
Job responsibilities
Fabrication Oversight- Conduct daily visits to 5–6 fabrication yards to monitor production activities.
- Verify fabrication progress aligns with project schedule and milestone requirements.
- Ensure materials, assemblies, and prefabricated systems meet engineering drawings, submittals, and specifications.
- Identify fabrication delays, material shortages, or quality concerns and drive corrective actions.
- Monitor manpower levels and productivity within fabrication facilities.Vendor Coordination
Vendor Coordination- Serve as the primary point of contact between fabrication vendors and the project team.
- Coordinate with vendors on production sequencing, logistics, packaging, and shipment readiness.
- Facilitate resolution of technical, quality, or scheduling conflicts.
- Escalate critical risks impacting cost, schedule, or quality.
- Maintain strong working relationships with vendor leadership and shop supervisors.
Quality Assurance & Compliance- Ensure fabrication adheres to applicable codes, project specifications, and QA/QC standards.
- Coordinate with QA/QC teams for inspections, testing, and documentation.
- Track non-conformance reports (NCRs) and ensure timely resolution.
- Verify proper labeling, documentation, and traceability of fabricated components.
Reporting & Documentation- Prepare and submit structured daily reports outlining:- Fabrication progress by yard
- Identified issues or delays
- Quality concerns
- Schedule risks
- Manpower observations
- Prepare weekly summary reports highlighting:- Overall fabrication status vs. schedule
- Risk assessment and mitigation actions
- Vendor performance trends
- Delivery forecast updates
- Maintain accurate logs of site visits and vendor communications.
Schedule & Logistics Coordination
- Align fabrication timelines with construction site readiness.
- Coordinate delivery schedules to prevent site congestion or material delays.
- Monitor critical path fabrication items.
- Support just-in-time delivery strategies when required.
Safey Oversight
- Promote and reinforce strong safety culture within fabrication yards.
- Ensure vendors are adhering to applicable safety standards and regulations.
- Report and escalate unsafe conditions.
- Communicate clearly with other trades, team members, subcontractors, and customers regarding job progress, needs, and concerns.

Compensation - The expected hourly range for this role is $53.00 to $59.00 USD.- Actual compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, qualifications.
- Per Diem amount of $155.00 and project allowance, when applicable
- 15% night-shift premium for eligible roles, when applicable
- Overtime compensation for non-exempt workers for hours worked over 40 per week
- Relocation and Living-out-allowance (as applicable and based on successful candidate circumstances)
