All Jobs  >  Principal Architect A3 TrekFed Apply Principal Architect A3 Fully Remote • Remote Worker - N/A Apply Description SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE OF THE JOB: The Principal Architect leads client engagements in the design and build of scalable next-generation cloud architectures.  DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: - Lead client engagements and be TrekFed’s face to the world - Provide thought leadership around scalable next-generation cloud architecture experience and guidance to clients - Lead cross-functional implementation teams to deliver world-class solutions to clients - Lead a team to navigate complex bureaucratic relationships to bring all stakeholders  - Evaluate libraries, tools, and services for suitability - Own the implementation of stories and other engineering of advanced cloud work for clients - Write Infrastructure as Code (IaC) in multiple frameworks and can break apart projects into independent components at an appropriate level, taking into account different aspects of a stack and know how to build stability and security into them. - Help clients get work done smarter with automation and code - Drive more complex projects and contribute to the detailed idea space effectively - Learn, coach, and share knowledge and skills with other TrekFed team members - Lead re-platforming and refactoring efforts for existing systems - Prepare work for team members of varying levels of experience, defining stories and task type work - Contribute to internal IP and open source development - Participate in delivery efforts using Agile or other work methodologies - Build relationships with vendors and partners - Engage with clients including presentations, technical decisions, and education opportunities - Learn, research, and stay up to date on best practices and evolutionary capability in the Amazon Web Services (AWS) cloud - Be a technical team advocate, ensuring clear direction and efficient execution - Perform code reviews, provide feedback, and pair when beneficial - Keep an eye out for opportunities to support our clients in even greater ways - Write cool blog posts, do talks at community events, help us achieve additional certifications in the AWS Partner Community, help our clients solve all sorts of problems - Occasional travel may be required to meet stakeholders, kick off new projects, attend conferences, and attend company functions. - Other duties as assigned Requirements REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field and 8 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc); or 10 years of general IT experience (programming, hardware, software, etc)  - 5+ years of experience with Amazon Web Services - 3+ year code-defined infrastructure experience - 3+ Continuous Integration and Deliver (CI/CD) experience - Have worked with Agile Project Management or other project management work methodologies.  - 5 years experience with Cloud Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda - 5 years experience architecting and building scalable, automated infrastructure - Must be a U.S. Citizen  - Must be able to obtain a secret security clearance PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: - AWS Associate and/or Professional Level Certification - 5+ years of programming experience utilizing Python, Node.js, Typescript, GoLang, Java, C#, or other similar languages  - Expert experience building scalable, automated infrastructure - Expert experience in large-scale enterprise IT environments - Expert experience working in a consultative, client-facing consulting role - Expert experience with Cloud Native patterns with services like AWS Lambda - Able to demonstrate effective verbal and written communication skills - Demonstrated documentation and presentation skills - Previous or current experience with Federal / Government stakeholders  - Intermediate experience with newer ATO strategies such as Fast Track or Continuous ATO COMPETENCIES: - Communication: The ability to effectively convey information, ideas, and instructions to individuals or groups, both verbally and in writing. - Time Management: The ability to effectively plan and organize one's own time in order to meet deadlines, prioritize tasks, and make the most efficient use of time. - Self Management: The ability to manage one's own emotions, thoughts, and behavior in different situations. - Building Work Relationships: The ability to establish and maintain positive and productive relationships with colleagues, clients, and other stakeholders. - Problem Analysis: The ability to identify, understand, and analyze problems in order to find solutions. - Persuasiveness: The ability to effectively present and argue one's own ideas and opinions, as well as influence others to adopt a certain viewpoint or take a specific action. - Technical expertise: The ability to understand, apply, and stay current with the knowledge, concepts, and practices in a specific field or industry. - Leadership: The ability to guide and inspire a team to achieve a common goal. - Planning: The ability to set goals, develop action plans, and effectively allocate resources in order to achieve desired outcomes. - Business development: The ability to identify and pursue new business opportunities, including the ability to generate leads, build relationships, and close deals.  - AI Acceleration: The ability to leverage new and evolving technologies to drive efficiencies and improve outcomes across all aspects of the role.
