About the opportunity
The Implementation Project Manager is responsible for managing customer-specific engagements to implement Ascender Pay (Dayforce aPay) as the payroll engine, including integration with upstream systems such as HRIS, time and attendance, and finance platforms.
Leveraging Dayforce's implementation methodology, the Project Manager drives delivery according to agreed scope, timeline, and budget, ensuring high customer satisfaction. The role manages multiple concurrent projects and works closely with consultants, upstream system owners, and third-party vendors in a matrix environment.
The Project Manager is accountable for end-to-end payroll implementation, including planning, integration coordination, testing, payroll validation, and transition to support, with a strong focus on payroll accuracy, compliance, and operational readiness.
What you’ll get to do
- Manage multiple concurrent payroll implementation projects ensuring quality, on-time and on-budget delivery
- Drive key payroll milestones including design, integration, testing, parallel runs, and go-live
- Coordinate upstream integrations (HRIS, T&A, Finance) ensuring data accuracy and readiness
- Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and payroll validation activities including reconciliation and variance analysis
- Manage payroll cutover planning and execution
- Ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and risk mitigation across all phases
- Identify and manage payroll risks including data integrity, integration dependencies, and compliance requirements
- Oversee payroll validation, reconciliation, and sign-off processes
- Ensure compliance with payroll legislation and regulatory requirements
- Establish governance and controls to minimise defects and rework
- Manage stakeholder communication and expectations
- Transition customers to post-go-live support
- Prepare and manage change requests
Skills and experience we value
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5+ years’ experience in payroll and/or HCM system implementations
- Proven experience leading payroll implementations or payroll-related projects
- Experience with upstream system integrations (HRIS, T&A, Finance)
- Experience delivering end-to-end payroll solutions including UAT and go-live
- Experience managing large-scale, multi-vendor programs
- Strong commercial acumen and project financial management
- Strong understanding of payroll processes, controls, and compliance
- Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a matrix environment
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills

- Experience implementing one or more of the following applications: SalesForce.com, ADP, SAP, PeopleSoft, JD Edwards, Kronos, Ultimate, Oracle HR/Payroll, PeopleSoft, Workday, Oracle.
- PMI/PMP certification preferred
