Remote Pharmacy Technician I – Prior Authorization (Contract-to-Hire)
Pay Rate: $20/hour
Schedule: Monday–Friday between 11:00 AM – 11:00 PM CST (8.5-hour shift with 30-minute lunch; shift assigned based on business needs)
Start Date: May 18, 2026
Contract Length: 6 months (contract-to-hire)

Position Overview
We are seeking a Pharmacy Technician I – Prior Authorization to support a high-volume, fast-paced environment. This role is responsible for handling inbound calls from providers, pharmacies, and members, assisting with the prior authorization process, and ensuring accurate and timely documentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Handle inbound calls and provide professional, courteous assistance
• Process prior authorization requests using established criteria
• Document approvals, denials, and all interactions accurately and timely
• Escalate clinical questions and judgment-based decisions to pharmacists
• Conduct outbound calls as needed
• Review and process prior authorizations via fax and electronic systems (ePA)
• Monitor and respond to department mailboxes
• Perform additional administrative duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
• Minimum 2 years of experience in a high-volume call center (healthcare, PBM, or prior authorization strongly preferred)
• At least 1 year of pharmacy technician experience in an administrative or support role
• Active Pharmacy Technician license or certification (no restrictions)
• Eligible for state registration/licensure as required
• Familiarity with medical terminology and coding
• Strong computer skills (word processing, spreadsheets, multitasking systems)
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• High School Diploma or GED (required)
Work-from-Home Requirements
• Dedicated, distraction-free workspace (HIPAA-compliant)
• Wired internet connection with:
• * Minimum 25 Mbps download speed
• Minimum 3 Mbps upload speed
• Ability to remain seated and focused for the duration of the shift
• Must not be the primary caregiver during working hours
Training
• Monday–Friday training for approximately 5 weeks (schedule TBD)
• Full attendance during training is required
