IT Systems Engineer

As an IT Systems Engineer at Column, you’ll ensure the secure and reliable operation of our enterprise technology ecosystem, enabling our team to deliver modern banking infrastructure to financial innovators. You will be the frontline of our Technology Operations (TechOps) function, implementing hardware and software solutions that will help our team work efficiently while also maintaining the high security standards required in a banking environment. 

This role reports directly to the Head of Technology Operations, and requires an in-person presence in our Presidio-based office at least 4-5 days a week. It also will entail regular travel to our Chico-based office, and periodic travel to San Jose and Los Angeles.

• Maintain and optimize our endpoint management system, ensuring devices are compliant, secure, and consistently operational

• Provide responsive technical support to our team members, quickly diagnosing and resolving issues for both in-office and remote employees

• Partner with Engineering and Business teams to develop automated workflows that enhance employee productivity and operational efficiency

• Conduct proactive system health assessments to identify and mitigate potential issues before they impact operations

• Implement and test disaster recovery protocols to ensure business continuity in line with banking regulations

• Stay updated on the latest technological trends and tools that can enhance user (employee) experience and operational efficiency

• Responsible for identifying, assessing, and managing the risk associated with activities by adhering to policies and procedures established by the Bank and reporting issues identified to management

• 4+ years of experience in IT, Technology Operations or related function

• Experience with macOS/Windows scripting languages and the ability to write scripts for endpoint management and automation

• Experience working with and managing Okta, AWS, GSuite, Jamf, Microsoft Intune and other SaaS products

• Knowledge of Kubernetes, Terraform and other tooling is a plus but not needed

• Skilled at detecting and resolving technical issues with a focus on effective problem-solving

• Highly self-motivated and skilled at prioritizing within a fast-paced, dynamic work environment

• Jamf 200 and up or Okta certifications a plus

Compensation packages at Column include base salary, equity, and benefits. New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

The annual base salary range for this position is $125,000 - $150,000 + equity.
