KeyBank is a financial services company, and they are seeking an Investor Accounting Specialist to manage the processing of borrower payments and various financial transactions. The role involves proactive communication with clients and adherence to policies for accurate reporting and remittance.
Responsibilities
- Identify and process borrower payments as directed by servicing standards and agreements
- Research, identify, deposit, and process live checks sent directly to the Overland Park office
- Process payments rejected by the external lockbox facility
- Handle payment reversals, NSF checks, stop payments, voids, and return e-pay transactions
- Monitor KeyNavigator for incoming wires/ACHs and process or notify appropriate parties
- Reconcile incoming wire accounts, including sub-serviced funds
- Process advances to pay vendors and upload bulk expenses
- Correct expenses and clear negative escrow balances
- Print and deliver disbursement checks, including manual energy checks
- Manage Positive Pay processes as needed
- Process worklog requests via RECWeb and email for various transaction types in Strategy
- Balance daily work through batch system and Strategy (book of record)
- Set up new vendors and review W9/W8 tax forms
- Calculate interest on escrow/reserves and for de-conversion loans
- Complete daily Key Capture deposits via KeyNavigator
- Process Forced Place Insurance (FPI) transactions
- Handle sales tax filings for Florida/Arizona store clients
- Process TIPS transactions related to inspections
- Process Cash Management (Waterfall) batch files
- Complete daily day-end processing to reconcile and close books
- Assist with customer service inquiries and transaction research
- Communicate with internal departments such as Tax, Insurance, Account Managers, Conversions, Investor Reporting, Cash Management, and Loan Accounting
- Perform all daily transactions for FDIC loan servicing
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties, responsibilities and/or activities may change or new ones may be assigned at any time with or without notice

Skills
- Bachelor's Degree (preferred) OR equivalent experience (required)
- 1+ years of payment processing or accounting-related experience (required)
- Accurate and timely handling of borrower payments, including reversals and rejected transactions
- Tracking and processing incoming electronic payments via KeyNavigator
- Balancing wire accounts and resolving discrepancies, including sub-serviced funds
- Processing vendor payments, manual checks, and bulk expense uploads
- Correcting expenses and clearing negative escrow balances
- Effective use of Strategy, RECWeb, and batch systems for transaction processing
- Onboarding new vendors and reviewing tax documentation (W9/W8)
- Computing interest on escrow/reserves and de-conversion loans
- Processing Forced Place Insurance (FPI) and related inspection transactions
- Managing filings for specific state clients (e.g., Florida, Arizona)
- Handling waterfall batch files and daily reconciliation processes
- Responding to inquiries and conducting transaction research
- Collaborating with Tax, Insurance, Accounting, and other internal teams
- Managing multiple tasks and deadlines with precision and efficiency
- Proactively identifying and resolving transaction and posting issues
