**Job Summary**
We are seeking an experienced Crisis Intervention Specialist to join our remote team, working on a 24/7/365 mental health crisis/suicide prevention focused team. As a Crisis Intervention Specialist, you will be responsible for handling incoming chat/text messages through the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline (NSPL), also known as 988. You will provide brief clinical screenings, risk assessments, and appropriate service linkage for individuals experiencing emotional distress. While interactions begin online, this position may also support telephonic intervention if an individual prefers or needs continued support to ensure safety.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Provide telephonic or chat clinical screenings and risk assessments
* Answer crisis contacts via the chat/text platform to assess for suicide, safety, and identify appropriate community resources to best meet individual needs
* Conduct follow-up calls for individuals deemed moderate to high risk for suicide
* Meet the ethical and clinical standards in compliance with all accreditation
* Actively participate in ongoing supervision, training, and team meetings
* Assist in administrative tasks as needed
**Essential Qualifications**
* Bachelor's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
* Certified Peer Recovery Specialist (CPRS) certification
* Six months to one year of related crisis experience
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
* Familiarity with crisis intervention and suicide prevention principles
* Knowledge of community resources and service linkage
**Preferred Qualifications**
* Master's degree in behavioral science, Psychology, Social Work, or related field
* Experience working in a crisis intervention or suicide prevention setting
* Certification in crisis intervention, such as QPR or ASIST
* Bilingual or multilingual skills
