About the Role
This opportunity is for a Data Analyst/Programmer supporting the implementation of a new Workday Student Information System (SIS). The role plays a critical part in migrating data from legacy student platforms into Workday, ensuring data accuracy, completeness, and integrity throughout the transition process.
Working under the guidance of a senior IT data specialist and in close collaboration with functional subject matter experts, this position focuses on SQL development, data extraction, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, and documentation of data handling procedures.
What You’ll Do
• Create, test, and execute SQL queries and scripts to extract data from multiple legacy systems for migration into Workday Student.
• Assist in preparing and formatting extracted data for successful migration.
• Perform validation checks to confirm successful data extraction.
• Conduct data quality checks on legacy data prior to migration.
• Run validation queries to ensure migrated data loads correctly into Workday.
• Document and escalate data validation issues for resolution.
• Compare reports from legacy systems and Workday to identify discrepancies or gaps.
• Record reconciliation results in project tracking tools.
• Maintain detailed documentation of migration steps, validation results, and updates.
• Collaborate with IT staff and business users to investigate and resolve data mismatches.
• Clearly document issues identified during testing and assist in tracking them through resolution.
• Communicate findings in a clear and concise manner to business stakeholders when needed.
Qualifications
• Experience writing and executing SQL queries for data extraction and validation.
• Strong understanding of data migration, reconciliation, and quality assurance processes.
• Ability to analyze discrepancies between systems and identify root causes.
• Experience documenting technical workflows and validation results.
• Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.
