Introduction:
SymphonyAI Retail is a leading provider of advanced AI-driven solutions and services specifically designed for the retail industry. We empower retailers and consumer packaged goods (CPG) companies with innovative technology to enhance their operations, optimize decision-making, and deliver exceptional customer experiences.
We are now hiring a Customer Insights Intern to join our team!
This isn’t your “make copies and sit in on calls” internship. You’ll be embedded in real client work from day one — digging into customer data, surfacing insights that actually change how retailers make decisions, and learning to tell stories that make people act on what the data is saying.
We’re an AI-first, AI-fast team obsessed with helping grocery retailers truly know their customers. We sit at the intersection of insights, technology, and strategy — and we move fast. You won’t just be joining a project. You’ll be joining a team with a real culture: one that assumes positive intent, celebrates wins, embraces failures as fuel for growth, and believes feedback — given well — makes everyone better.
And here’s something a little different: you’ll also get to break things — on purpose. As part of our AI product testing efforts, you’ll stress-test our tools, find the edges, surface bugs, and push our technology to see where it holds up and where it doesn’t. If you’ve ever wanted to be the person who finds what everyone else missed, this is your moment.
Job Description:
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Client & Analytics Work
- Use AI-powered tools and BI platforms (including our proprietary Symphony RetailAI suite) to answer real business questions for some of the country’s largest grocery retailers.
- Help prepare, clean, and organize data so the team can move quickly and confidently on project work.
- Contribute to deliverables — from client presentations to training materials — with a storyteller’s eye for clarity and impact.
- Support training sessions with retail client teams on our SRAI solutions.
AI Product Testing
- Rigorously stress-test our AI tools — try to break them, find the edges, and document what you find.
- Surface bugs, inconsistencies, and usability gaps in our product — and bring clear, actionable feedback to the team.
- Think like an end user: explore edge cases, test unexpected inputs, and push features in ways real clients might.
Team & Culture
- Participate in Teachbacks — both learning from the team and sharing what you discover along the way.
- Contribute to internal projects: best practice documentation, process improvements, and team knowledge-sharing.
- Bring fresh, diverse perspectives to how we think about problems — we actively want ideas that challenge our initial thinking.
A DAY IN THIS ROLE
You might be...
What makes it great...
Trying ten different inputs in our AI tool to find the one that makes it behave unexpectedly — and documenting exactly how you got there
You’re the one who finds what everyone else missed. That’s a real contribution — and it makes the product better for every client.
Sitting in on a Teachback where a consultant shares a new analysis approach — then getting to share your own product testing findings with the team
We celebrate individual and team achievements. You’ll learn as much as you teach — and your fresh perspective is part of why we want you here.
Helping clean a dataset before a big client deliverable — and realizing along the way that something looks off in the numbers
We actively look for solutions before letting problems escalate. You flagging it is exactly what we want. Your curiosity protects quality.

WHAT YOU’LL WALK AWAY WITH
Real experience at the edge of AI and retail analytics — plus a team that invested in you. We set aside time for mentorship, career planning, and personal development because we believe your growth is part of our growth.
