This is a remote position.
The Application Programmer will support the Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries (LDWF) on a custom-built .NET development project. This role is responsible for the full lifecycle of web application development, including design, coding, testing, debugging, and documentation. The Application Programmer will monitor and audit the performance of replacement software and implement improvements as needed. This position requires close cooperation with LDWF's Technical Architect and other Office of Technology Services (OTS) technical teams to ensure compliance with state application standards. The Application Programmer will also provide knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to OTS and customer-agency staff, and will actively participate in Scrum ceremonies and design sessions.
Responsibilities
- Design, code, compile, test, debug, and document web applications in support of agency software initiatives.
- Develop and configure solutions within a custom-built .NET development project.
- Monitor, review, and audit the performance of replacement software and implement performance improvements.
- Coordinate with LDWF's Technical Architect and OTS technical teams to ensure compliance with state application standards.
- Provide technical knowledge transfer, training, and documentation to OTS and customer-agency staff for all requested work.
- Participate in team meetings and design sessions, contributing feedback and detailed design and implementation approaches in accordance with Scrum ceremonies.
- Support the maintenance and ongoing support of existing web applications.
- Perform special projects, analysis, studies, and other tasks as directed.
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications
- 2 years of full-stack experience in any combination of the following: C#, ASP.NET Core, or MSSQL.
- 1 year of enterprise-level software development experience.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2 years of experience developing applications in MVC architecture using .NET Core 2.x, 3.x, .NET 5, or greater.
- 2 years of experience with Bootstrap, JavaScript, SQL Server, or DevOps practices including CI/CD pipelines.
- 1 year of experience using Vue or React frameworks.
- Experience working as part of a collaborative development team.
- Experience with client engagements covering design, delivery, deployment, and ongoing application maintenance.
- Prior experience working in an Agile/Scrum environment.
