Vice President, Enterprise Architecture (New York, NY) Leverage advanced knowledge of computer science and computer engineering principles and will be responsible for mentoring and managing directors of engineering, engineering managers as well as software and testing engineers in the development, engineering, and overall operation of the Company’s clinical technical platform. Will also lead the Scrum teams in designing and implementing cutting-edge software projects in the logistics space and will work closely with Software Architects to set the architectural direction for the Company’s products. Specific duties will include: • Establish, maintain, and ensure implementation of efficient engineering practices with the directors, managers, scrum masters, software engineers, test engineers, and QA through example, guidance, and training to ensure the Company’s software platform operates efficiently. • Participate in strategic planning meetings with product management, architecture, and design to establish matters of improvement, continued operational success, and further technical growth. • Conduct industry research and contribute to technical engineering designs, resource management, and implementation of the Company’s highly technical platform. • Manage the delivery of software using Agile best practices and build cross-department relationships centered on executing Company strategies. • Solve complex software engineering tasks while maintaining coding standards and practices. • Communicate effectively with team members, internal and external customers, and work closely with the CTO on department-wide technological engineering initiatives. Supervises five direct reports with titles, including Senior Full Stack Engineer; Data Integration Engineer; API Integration Engineer; Enterprise Data Engineer; and DevOps Automation Engineer. The SOC code for each role will fall under 15-1252 Software Developers. May telecommute 90% of the workweek from a U.S. home residence. Minimum requirements: Master’s degree or foreign equivalent degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related field, plus 5 years of professional experience defining and implementing best practices for software development and engineering operations. Experience, which may be gained concurrently, must include the following: • 5 years of experience leading software engineering and architecture team members, which includes hiring, overseeing work, and training on specific software engineering and architecture techniques and principles; • 5 years of experience using enterprise software architecture and cloud platforms, including AWS, Azure, GCP, and microservices; • 5 years of experience using Agile project management technologies, such as Scrum and Kanban as well as DevOps practices; • 5 years of experience working with distributed systems, event-driven architecture, and containerization; • 5 years of experience with CI/CD, test automation, and information security best practices; and • 5 years of experience utilizing modern highly technical programming languages including Java and C# as well as using Docker and Kubernetes.
