Seeking an experienced SolidWorks sheet metal designer to create a custom enclosure for a panel-mount electronic device (industrial power metering equipment).
Approximate dimensions: 200mm x 135mm x 50-65mm depth, housing a 185x120mm LCD display, PCBs, and cable connections. Design will need to accommodate LCD mounting — either with a bezel/trim frame or border area for label application to secure the display.
Manufacturing approach: Low-volume prototype production — laser cut and brake formed. Design for manufacturability is important; understand how complexity drives cost.
Deliverables:
Native SolidWorks 2021 files
Flat patterns for fabrication
Assembly/fabrication drawings
I will provide internal component models, LCD specifications, and mounting requirements. Good communication is essential — this will be collaborative with iteration expected.
This is a relatively straightforward enclosure — I'd expect it to take an experienced designer somewhere in the range of a half day to two days. Let me know your estimate.
This is the first of several enclosure and mechanical design projects — looking for someone interested in an ongoing working relationship as the product line develops.
