Senior Vice President – Underwriting

Job Description: • Take full accountability for underwriting outcomes across multiple lines, segments, and channels. Jointly drive growth, profitability, and loss ratio management. • Define underwriting appetite, pricing, coverage standards, and referral thresholds. • Review high-impact and high-growth risks, ensuring decisions scale without sacrificing quality. • Partner with Data and Product teams to test new underwriting signals. • Design controlled experiments and move successful signals into standard underwriting rules. • Identify profitable growth opportunities and maintain underwriting speed at scale. • Partner strategically with Business Development to unlock expansion. • Mentor and grow underwriting managers and senior underwriters. • Build a culture of accountability, learning, and disciplined judgment. • Serve as a senior underwriting point of contact, embedding carrier guidelines and capacity into everyday decisions.
