Job Overview
As a Senior JAMF Engineer, you will be responsible for the deployment, management, and maintenance of Apple devices across our organization using the JAMF Pro platform. Your expertise will ensure the smooth operation of all Apple hardware and software systems, while also configuring devices, deploying applications, enforcing security protocols, and troubleshooting issues that arise. Key Responsibilities
- Administer and Configure JAMF Pro Environments: Leverage your proficiency in administering and configuring JAMF Pro environments to manage macOS and iOS devices effectively.
- Zero-Touch Deployment: Execute zero-touch deployment strategies for new devices through Apple's Automated MDM Enrollment (DEP) and JAMF Pro.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop and optimize scripts (Shell, Python, etc.) to automate tasks associated with device management, application installations, and system updates.
- Application Management: Administer the packaging, deployment, and updating of applications via JAMF Pro, overseeing software licensing management and compliance.
- Security Compliance: Uphold security compliance by enforcing relevant policies and configurations, including FileVault, firewall, and encryption standards.
- Patch Management: Oversee patch management processes for operating systems and applications to ensure devices are current and secure.
- Technical Support: Provide exceptional technical support that enhances user satisfaction, particularly for macOS and iOS related issues concerning system performance and connectivity.
- Device Monitoring: Conduct regular monitoring of device health, usage, and compliance, supplying management with detailed insights and reports.
- Network Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot network-related issues and manage VPN configurations effectively.
Required Skills and Qualifications
To succeed in this role, you'll need:
- Extensive JAMF Pro Experience: Demonstrated experience with JAMF Pro management and configuration.
- Zero-Touch Deployment Expertise: Proven history of implementing zero-touch deployment processes.
- Scripting and Automation: Proficient in scripting for automation purposes.
- Application Management: Strong capabilities in application management, including software licensing and compliance oversight.
- Security Compliance: Familiarity with enforcing security compliance.
- Patch Management: Mastery in managing patch processes effectively.
- Excellent Communication Skills: Excellent communication and service skills directed toward user support.
- Network Troubleshooting: A solid understanding of network troubleshooting and VPN configuration.
- JAMF 300 Certification: Mandatory JAMF 300 certification.
Preferred qualifications include:
- Documentation Experience: Proven experience in developing and maintaining documentation for device management protocols.
- Training Experience: Experience conducting training sessions for IT personnel and end-users on best practices for Apple device utilization.
- Bachelor's Degree: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
- Enterprise-Level Experience: Enterprise-level experience with JAMF Pro and managing Apple devices.
- Security Standards: Familiarity with security standards and protocols, including encryption and MDM security frameworks.
