Overview:
Our Senior Financial Business Analyst plays a critical role in driving financial insights, strategic decision-making, and operational efficiency. This role is responsible for financial modeling, forecasting, budgeting, and performance analysis to support key business initiatives and executive decision-making.
This position is hybrid, with the expectation of being in the office 3 days per week.
Responsibilities
• Support financial planning processes, including annual budgeting, forecasting and long-range planning to ensure accurate and strategic financial outlooks
• Develop complete financial models and scenario analyses to assess business performance, identify trends, and support decision-making by department heads and other members of leadership
• Partner with business units and leadership to analyze financial results, track key performance indicators, maintain dashboards, and provide variance analysis with actionable recommendations
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial and/or management reports and presentations for senior management and key stakeholders
• Conduct cost-benefit analyses, profitability assessments, and investment evaluations to support business strategies
• Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, systems, and reporting to enhance efficiency and data accuracy
• Work closely with accounting, operations, and other departments to ensure financial data integrity and alignment with strategic goals
• Support oversight of the NetSuite Planning and Budgeting module and associated data integrations
• Support ad hoc financial, operational and strategic projects, as necessary.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience working with financial data to produce insights for use in organizational decision-making
• Displays a passion for using data to drive organizational decision-making
• Demonstrates proficiency with financial modeling concepts
• Demonstrates a basic understanding of financial accounting principles used in a corporate environment
• Analytical with a strong aptitude for basic to advanced statistical analysis of financial data
• Demonstrates the ability to independently identify patterns in financial data and communicate key insights clearly and confidently in written and visual formats
• Proficient with advanced functionality in Microsoft Excel for cleaning and analyzing data from multiple sources
• Proficient with a common data visualization tool for reporting, such as Tableau or Power BI (preferred)
• Proficient with financial systems (Oracle EPM and NetSuite preferred)
• Communicates professionally with various stakeholders in the business (senior leadership, members of the finance team or other departments, operating partners, and customers)
• Comfortable carrying out tasks with a high degree of uncertainty and working on “sticky” problems that may require novel solutions
• Demonstrates an ability to improve processes for efficiency and cost savings
• Builds and maintains trust from the team, staff, and customers by using sound judgment while completing tasks, working collaboratively, and producing high quality work
• Capable of performing work in a detail-oriented manner, proactively identifying and solving issues and following organizational procedures
