[Remote] Staff Accountant

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Staff Accountant will support the company's accounting operations by ensuring accurate financial records, processing transactions, and maintaining compliance with internal controls. Responsibilities - Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP - Perform monthly balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations - Process and enter vendor invoices in Coupa, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, required approvals, and compliance with company policies - Prepare and support the execution of vendor payment batches, ensuring timely and accurate payments - Collaborate with Procurement and business partners to support purchase order creation, updates, and invoice-to-PO matching within Coupa - Assist with monitoring and resolving invoice discrepancies, unmatched invoices, and approval workflow issues - Support vendor onboarding and purchasing-related administrative processes, as needed - Help maintain strong internal controls over procure-to-pay activities and ensure proper supporting documentation is retained - Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation - Review and process employee expense reimbursements through Concur - Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities - Support quarterly and annual financial audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests - Assist with preparation and documentation for SOX 404(b) compliance, including internal control testing and audit support - Prepare and file annual 1099 reports - Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements as needed Skills - Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP - Perform monthly balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations - Process and enter vendor invoices in Coupa, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, required approvals, and compliance with company policies - Prepare and support the execution of vendor payment batches, ensuring timely and accurate payments - Collaborate with Procurement and business partners to support purchase order creation, updates, and invoice-to-PO matching within Coupa - Assist with monitoring and resolving invoice discrepancies, unmatched invoices, and approval workflow issues - Support vendor onboarding and purchasing-related administrative processes, as needed - Help maintain strong internal controls over procure-to-pay activities and ensure proper supporting documentation is retained - Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation - Review and process employee expense reimbursements through Concur - Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities - Support quarterly and annual financial audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests - Assist with preparation and documentation for SOX 404(b) compliance, including internal control testing and audit support - Prepare and file annual 1099 reports - Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements as needed - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Previous experience with accounting in a publicly traded company required - Exceptional time-management abilities and strong follow-through skills required - Experience managing confidential information - Experience working in a fast-paced environment handling a wide range of tasks with little supervision or oversight required - Professional, team-oriented, collaborative, and 'can-do' attitude - Intermediate-to-advanced computer and MS Office skills (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint) - Experience within the life science industry preferred - Significant Sarbanes Oxley compliance experience, 404b experience preferred - Previous experience with Coupa and NetSuite preferred - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to present numeric data effectively - Exceptional listening, observational and problem-solving skills Benefits - 100% paid health benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision for you and your dependents - 401(k) program with company match and vesting after the turn of the first month after your start date - Flexible time off - Generous parental leave and some fun fringe perks!
