[Remote] Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant will support the company's accounting operations by ensuring accurate financial records, processing transactions, and maintaining compliance with internal controls. Responsibilities - Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP - Perform monthly balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations - Process and enter vendor invoices in Coupa, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, required approvals, and compliance with company policies - Prepare and support the execution of vendor payment batches, ensuring timely and accurate payments - Collaborate with Procurement and business partners to support purchase order creation, updates, and invoice-to-PO matching within Coupa - Assist with monitoring and resolving invoice discrepancies, unmatched invoices, and approval workflow issues - Support vendor onboarding and purchasing-related administrative processes, as needed - Help maintain strong internal controls over procure-to-pay activities and ensure proper supporting documentation is retained - Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation - Review and process employee expense reimbursements through Concur - Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities - Support quarterly and annual financial audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests - Assist with preparation and documentation for SOX 404(b) compliance, including internal control testing and audit support - Prepare and file annual 1099 reports - Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements as needed Skills - Prepare and post monthly journal entries in accordance with GAAP - Perform monthly balance sheet and general ledger account reconciliations - Process and enter vendor invoices in Coupa, ensuring accuracy, appropriate coding, required approvals, and compliance with company policies - Prepare and support the execution of vendor payment batches, ensuring timely and accurate payments - Collaborate with Procurement and business partners to support purchase order creation, updates, and invoice-to-PO matching within Coupa - Assist with monitoring and resolving invoice discrepancies, unmatched invoices, and approval workflow issues - Support vendor onboarding and purchasing-related administrative processes, as needed - Help maintain strong internal controls over procure-to-pay activities and ensure proper supporting documentation is retained - Reconcile corporate credit card transactions and ensure proper documentation - Review and process employee expense reimbursements through Concur - Assist with month-end and quarter-end close activities - Support quarterly and annual financial audits by preparing schedules and responding to auditor requests - Assist with preparation and documentation for SOX 404(b) compliance, including internal control testing and audit support - Prepare and file annual 1099 reports - Assist with ad hoc accounting projects and process improvements as needed - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field - Previous experience with accounting in a publicly traded company required - Exceptional time-management abilities and strong follow-through skills required - Experience managing confidential information - Experience working in a fast-paced environment handling a wide range of tasks with little supervision or oversight required - Professional, team-oriented, collaborative, and 'can-do' attitude - Intermediate-to-advanced computer and MS Office skills (Outlook/Word/Excel/PowerPoint) - Experience within the life science industry preferred - Significant Sarbanes Oxley compliance experience, 404b experience preferred - Previous experience with Coupa and NetSuite preferred - Excellent written and verbal communication skills, along with the ability to present numeric data effectively - Exceptional listening, observational and problem-solving skills Benefits - 100% paid health benefits including Medical, Dental and Vision for you and your dependents - 401(k) program with company match and vesting after the turn of the first month after your start date - Flexible time off - Generous parental leave and some fun fringe perks!
