Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Leidos is in search of a Civil Site Engineer to join their diverse and fast-paced EPC Solutions organization. The role involves leading and designing high voltage utility Civil Substation projects while providing consulting services to electric utilities. The Civil Site Engineer will work remotely and be part of a design team focused on comprehensive engineering design and project management tasks.
Responsibilities
- Land development permitting including NPDES, stormwater management, and knowledge of other typical local, state, and/or federal regulations and permit requirements
- Research additional site data through various sources
- Site layout, grading, and drainage design
- Stormwater modeling and design
- Erosion and sediment control design
- Access road design
- Utility coordination and design
- Retaining wall layout and design
- Documentation of all supporting calculations
- Quantity take-offs
- Construction drawings
- Construction specifications
- Construction observation and field engineering
- Coordination and collaboration with other design disciplines, project managers and field personnel
Skills
- B.S. degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited institution with 0+ years of directly applicable civil-site design experience
- Experience with AutoCAD Civil 3D software (preferred) and/or MicroStation OpenSite Designer software
- Experience with Hydraflow and various other hydrologic and hydraulic modeling & design programs
- P.E. license
- Proficiency using Microsoft Office suite, Bluebeam, Adobe Acrobat, and other general software tools
- Experience with Autoturn
- Strong analytical and technical writing skills
- Team player with ability to communicate effectively with clients and staff
- Able to execute projects and handle clients successfully with limited supervision
- Willing to travel, up to 25%
