[Remote] Associate Distribution Engineer

They are seeking Associate Distribution Engineers / Designers who will support the development of design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for electric utility customers. Responsibilities - Support the development of design and construction work packages for electrical overhead and underground distribution systems for electric utility customers - Assist in reviewing client-provided work and help interpret scope requirements under guidance from senior team members - Perform basic engineering calculations such as pole loading, guying, conductor sag and tension, and voltage drop with oversight - Provide support during construction activities, including assisting with post-construction reviews to help ensure compliance with engineering and construction standards - Assist with analysis of outages and contribute to mitigation efforts using established engineering practices - Gain experience coordinating with other utilities and field engineering requirements, supporting design efforts for cable/conduit projects, and assisting with permitting, easements, and right-of-way (ROW) documentation Skills - Bachelor's Degree (Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Industrial preferred); additional relevant experience/certifications may be considered in lieu of bachelor's degree - Ability to demonstrate proficiency with the NESC - Ability to utilize a personal vehicle, as some customer-related travel could be anticipated (Job-related travel will be reimbursed at IRS-approved rates) - Willingness to perform both field and office work - Ability to work in outdoor environments on occasion - The role may require customer-site visits to collect field data that will assist in developing work packages - Candidates should possess valid U.S. driver's license, as some local or regional travel is expected Benefits - Health and Wellness programs - Income Protection - Paid Leave - Retirement Company Overview - Leidos is an industry and technology leader serving government and commercial customers with smarter, more efficient digital and mission innovations.
