Fannie Mae is foundational to housing finance, and they are seeking a Product Management Associate to optimize technology products supporting their Single-Family business. The role involves collaborating with stakeholders, managing product backlogs, and supporting user adoption through change management efforts.
Responsibilities
- Consultative Requirements Gathering: Move beyond simple "order taking" by working with stakeholders to uncover root problems, challenge assumptions, and recommend solutions that align with long-term strategy
- Agile Execution & Collaboration: Act as a junior product manager within a cross-functional Scrum team; work daily with software engineers to unblock issues and ensure shared understanding of goals
- Change Management & Adoption: Recognize that technology is only as good as its usage. You will support change management efforts by creating training materials and acting as a champion for the platform to ensure smooth user adoption
- User Stories & Backlog: Translate business needs into high-quality User Stories and Acceptance Criteria in Jira, ensuring technical teams have clear direction
- Data Analysis: Analyze usage data and user feedback to identify trends, bugs, or opportunities for platform improvement
- Testing & QA: Coordinate User Acceptance Testing (UAT), ensuring business users feel supported and heard during the validation phase
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent
- 0–2 years of experience in business analysis, product support, or a related internship
- Basic understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies (sprints, stand-ups, retro)
- Strong proficiency in the suite of Microsoft products, such as PowerPoint, Excel
- Exceptional emotional intelligence and interpersonal skills; ability to build trust with stakeholders and work effectively within a diverse team
- Experience using product management tools like Jira or Confluence
- Familiarity with major CRM platforms (e.g., Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics, HubSpot)
- Previous internship or coursework related to digital product design and development
- Experience with Organizational Change Management (OCM)
