The Practice Development Coordinator will support the management of practice groups and initiatives, assisting in business development, data management, and internal communications to enhance practice group performance. Responsibilities - Assist SPDM and PDS with the execution of practice group business development initiatives - Develop legal rankings submissions and track submission information from year-to-year, including related research, matter collection and maintenance of practice group data - Maintain updates to all appropriate practice group intranet and other internal knowledge management pages (including posting of news, articles, case law, training materials or other relevant information) - Assist and at times take the lead in drafting practice group and/or client presentations working with SPDM, PDS, partners and PGLs - Work with SPDM and PDS on lateral partner on-boarding tasks including, creating contact lists and schedules, coordinating with representatives from Business Development, Operations, Finance, Marketing, Professional Development, Legal Services and CICC, and organizing the delivery of practice group and firm materials - Support practice group, practice area and/or initiative meetings by preparing agendas, taking notes and driving follow up to meetings to optimize outcomes Skills - An undergraduate degree, with a minimum of one year of relevant experience - Strong project management and organizational skills - Ability to identify and solve problems, work independently, and take initiative - Ability to compile, review and determine logical conclusions or recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data and information which is varied in content and format - Demonstrates aptitude for data analytics to support the team's growing need for data-driven insights and reporting - Strong oral communication skills - Strong attention to detail - Strong writing skills - Demonstrated ability to effectively use technology, database, presentation, and spreadsheet software - Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with people at all levels - Ability to establish credibility with Ropes & Gray attorneys and professional staff, to bring to bear the right mix of confidence, tact and persistence in working with the firm's lawyers and professional staff - Law firm, professional services or corporate experience strongly preferred Benefits - Comprehensive health and well-being benefits - Personal and professional development - Career growth opportunities - A collegial and supportive culture - Discretionary bonus based on performance Company Overview - Ropes & Gray, a preeminent, global law firm, has been ranked in the top-three on The American Lawyer's prestigious "A-List" for eight consecutive years and listed on Law.com’s UK “A-List” for three years in a row.
