Pet Transportation Agent (Full Time Travel)

Role Description This is a full-time travel role for a Pet Transportation Agent, under our pet transportation product. The individual in this role will coordinate the safe and efficient transportation of pets, manage scheduling and route planning, liaise with clients, ensure compliance with regulations, and provide real-time updates about the status of transports. The role involves collaborating with internal teams, external partners, and pet owners to ensure the highest level of care and service throughout the transit process. Customer satisfaction, safety, and attention to detail will be fundamental to the role. • Strong organizational and scheduling skills to manage transportation logistics effectively. • Excellent communication and customer service abilities for liaising with clients and partners. • Attention to detail and knowledge of animal care and transportation regulations to ensure pet safety and compliance. • Problem-solving skills and adaptability to handle unexpected challenges during transit. • Technological proficiency to use digital tools for tracking, reporting, and communication. • Background in pet handling, logistics, or a similar field is preferred. • Ability to work independently in a remote setting while meeting responsibilities and client needs. • Passion for animals and commitment to their welfare during transportation. You are the sole custodian of medically sensitive and emotionally vulnerable animals during long-haul driving, airports, flights, hotels, delays, and handoffs. There is no supervision, no margin, no excuses. You must be able to independently and confidently: • Handle medically sensitive pets, including: • Senior animals • Post-procedure or recovery animals • Temperature-sensitive breeds • Animals with mobility limitations or chronic conditions • Maintain strict adherence to: • Feeding intervals • Hydration timing • Medication instructions (no administration unless explicitly authorized) • Continuously monitor for: • Respiratory distress • Overheating or hypothermia • Shock, lethargy, refusal to eat/drink • Escalating anxiety or panic behaviors • Execute escape-proof handling during: • Vehicle loading/unloading • Fuel/charging stops • Hotels • Airports and TSA screening Hesitation, rough handling, or inability to control unfamiliar animals is disqualifying. You must have at least one of the following: • Professional animal handling experience (transport, veterinary, kennel, rescue, training) • Veterinary assistant / tech coursework or equivalent hands-on experience • Certified animal handling, welfare, or first-aid training (formal or employer-issued) • Demonstrable long-term care of high-needs animals with references You will drive 6–10+ hours per day in a Tesla Model Y. Required: • Valid U.S. driver’s license • Spotless or near-spotless MVR • No DUIs / DWIs (ever) • No reckless driving • No pattern speeding • No at-fault accidents within acceptable underwriting limits • Ability to pass ongoing driving reviews Operational driving rules: • No aggressive acceleration, braking, or lane changes • Defensive driving only • Regenerative braking managed to avoid abrupt deceleration • Climate control maintained within animal-safe ranges at all times • Charging stops planned to avoid extended animal confinement Vehicle must remain immaculate, odor-free, and inspection-ready at all times. You must be able to: • Escort animals on commercial flights • Follow airline pet policies exactly • Manage animals during: • Crowded terminals • Security screening • Boarding, layovers, delays, cancellations • Maintain custody and control during every transition Improvisation in airports is not allowed. You must: • Follow SOPs and checklists without deviation • Accurately manage: • Multi-day schedules • Pickup and delivery windows • Ground ↔ air transitions • Maintain real-time documentation: • Animal condition logs • Feeding/hydration/rest records • Route and timing milestones • Provide clear, factual client updates • Complete incident and exception reports immediately when required Missed documentation or procedural shortcuts are grounds for removal. • Calm under pressure • Detail-obsessed • Comfortable operating alone for extended periods • Physically capable of handling crates and carriers • Willing to travel full-time (nights, weekends, holidays) • Willing to fly on short notice • No reckless driving • No substance use • No animal mishandling • No procedural deviation • No excuses This role is not learn-as-you-go and not forgiving of mistakes. Applicants must already possess the judgment, discipline, animal-handling competence, driving maturity, and procedural rigor required to operate independently in high-risk environments.
