Lois Law Firm is the number one firm in their vertical serving Fortune 100 clients. They are seeking a dedicated Paralegal to support their litigation team in defending clients in workers’ compensation cases in New York and New Jersey.
Responsibilities
- Paralegal to support the New York or New Jersey workers’ compensation defense practice
- Conduct research to support legal proceedings
- Assist with the drafting and reviewing of legal documents
- Investigate facts to help in the negotiation of legal disputes
- Monitor and ensure compliance with state and federal regulations
- Record and store client information
Skills
- Previous experience as a paralegal or in the legal field is appreciated but not required
- An associate's degree is required
- Successful candidates must be ambitious and driven
- Possess a strong work ethic
- Have good organizational skills
- Familiarity with legal research
- Ability to utilize critical thinking skills to push claims forward to closure
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Deadline- and detail-oriented
- Candidate must secure a notary license (Lois LLC will reimburse for associated costs)
- This role is exclusively in our Paramus, New Jersey, office
- A Certificate in Paralegal Studies from an ABA-approved organization
- A bachelor's degree
