Thuma is a modern design company specializing in furniture and home goods. They are seeking a Jr. Art Director to support the Brand Creative team in concept development, production, and post-shoot execution for brand and campaign content.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Art Director on concepting and idea development for campaigns and ongoing content
- Support brand standards by helping maintain and evolve visual consistency across channels
- Support art direction on set as needed, helping ensure creative intent translates through execution
- Create and own compelling visual content that elevates brand storytelling across campaigns and touchpoints
- Work closely with production partners to help keep shoots organized, efficient, and on schedule
- Assist with asset organization and management within the DAM system
- Create decks for campaign launches, internal reviews, creative concepts, and presentations
- Support content creation for brand moments
- Assist in pre-production planning, including:
- Building mood, styling, and reference decks
- Assisting with shot lists and creative outlines
- Collaborating cross-functionally to ensure all marketing needs are captured
- Collaborate on post-production for stills and video:
- Mark up images and provide direction for retouching
- Review proofs and conduct quality control to ensure all assets meet brand standards
Skills
- 1-3 years on-set experience, effectively directing talent and crew during shoots
- A portfolio showing strong visual taste across design, photography, video, or art direction fundamentals
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator) and familiarity with Figma
- Experience with Bynder or DAM systems is a plus
- A working knowledge of production and post-production for stills and video
- Strong typography, layout, and composition skills
- An interest in the full pre-through-post production process
- Awareness of current fashion, design, and culture, with an appreciation for archival references
- Strong written communication and cross functional collaboration skills
- The ability to take feedback thoughtfully and collaborate closely with a creative team
- Comfort working in a fast-paced, startup-style environment
- An eagerness to explore and leverage AI in creative work
- A curious, self-directed mindset with a genuine desire to learn and grow creatively
