Position Title: MBA / Graduate Summer Intern, Strategy & Corporate Development

Overview:
The Intern, Strategy & Corporate Development will help identify and evaluate long-term growth opportunities for One Inc including organic and inorganic opportunities. The intern will source and research potential acquisition targets across the insurance, payments, and fintech ecosystem, and build business cases to understand the ROI of various investment opportunities. You will build target lists, develop investment/partnership theses, and support initial screening of opportunities (e.g., partnerships, product expansion, and M&A) by synthesizing market, competitive, and company-specific insights into clear recommendations for senior leaders.
Responsibilities
- Source and research specific companies that align with One Inc’s priorities (e.g., digital payments, tuck-in technology capabilities to bolster its existing products).
- Build and maintain market maps/landscapes (segments, key players, value chains) and track relevant news, funding, and competitive moves.
- Conduct structured diligence-lite: business model, product capabilities, customer base, differentiation, leadership, and strategic fit.
- Support the evaluation of opportunities by building or refining market sizing, unit economics, and high-level financial/valuation analyses.
- Help maintain a pipeline and prioritization framework (target lists, screening criteria, scoring, and next steps) to focus effort on the highest-potential opportunities.
- Develop business cases to evaluate organic and inorganic growth opportunities, specifically documenting and aligning with relevant internal stakeholders on assumptions and methodology.
- Assist in creating lightweight dashboards and recurring updates to track the opportunity pipeline, key hypotheses, and outcomes against defined success metrics.
- Synthesize findings into concise, executive-ready memos and presentations with clear recommendations and decision points.
Skills needed:
- Strong analytical, research, and synthesis skills; able to turn ambiguous questions into structured analyses.
- Proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint (comfortable building clean models, market maps, and executive presentations).
- Excellent written and verbal communication; able to communicate insights clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Interest in strategy/corporate development and the insurance payments ecosystem; curious about business models, competitive dynamics, and growth drivers
- Preferred: prior internship experience in consulting, investment banking, corporate strategy, corporate development, or venture capital.
Education & Experience:
- Currently enrolled in an MBA or other relevant graduate program (e.g., MS in Finance, Economics, Analytics, or related field), with prior experience in strategy, research, investment analysis, corporate development, consulting, or an adjacent role.
