Job Description:
We are building a premium beauty accessory brand and are looking for an experienced industrial designer (with mechanical understanding) to design a small cylindrical keychain case that will go into manufacturing.
This is not just a visual concept — we need a production-ready design that can be sampled and manufactured at scale.
⸻
About the Product:
The product is a compact cylindrical keychain case designed to store a rolled pair of lightweight fingerless gloves.
Design direction:
• Minimal, elevated, beauty-industry aesthetic (similar to Rhode, Aritzia, SKIMS)
• Clean silhouette with subtle taper
• Flush cap with hidden closure
• No visible threading externally
• Soft matte finish (or premium metal option)
⸻
Scope of Work:
We are looking for someone who can:
• Translate our concept + references into a refined, production-ready design
• Develop precise dimensions and proportions based on product requirements
• Design closure mechanism (twist / bayonet / snap – must feel premium)
• Ensure wall thickness, tolerances, and usability are correct
• Prepare files suitable for manufacturer use
⸻
Deliverables:
• 3D CAD files (STEP / IGES / SolidWorks or Fusion 360)
• 2–3 design variations (subtle differences in form/closure)
• Section views (wall thickness, closure mechanism)
• Rendered visuals for review (clean, minimal)
• Basic guidance for manufacturing (materials + finishes)
⸻
Materials We Are Considering:
• Rigid TPU (injection molded)
• Anodized aluminum
• PVD-coated metal
Experience working with consumer products and small accessories is important.
⸻
Ideal Candidate:
• Industrial designer with mechanical understanding
• Experience designing products for manufacturing (not just concept)
• Familiar with injection molding and/or metal fabrication
• Strong attention to detail and clean aesthetic
• Able to communicate clearly and iterate quickly
