Our goal is to secure funding to purchase a home for transitional living while providing supportive services including case management, counseling, and social work. Position Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Volunteer Grant Writer to join our dynamic team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact by securing vital funding through well-researched and compelling grant proposals.
The Volunteer Grant Writer will play a critical role in supporting our fundraising efforts by identifying funding opportunities, crafting persuasive proposals, managing grant documentation, and assisting with reporting requirements. Your work will directly support our ability to expand programs, strengthen services, and ultimately secure transitional housing for the women we serve.
Key Responsibilities
• Research and identify grant opportunities from foundations, corporations, and government agencies
• Write, edit, and submit high-quality grant proposals and letters of inquiry
• Develop compelling narratives that align with funder priorities and organizational goals
• Collaborate with leadership to gather program data, budgets, and impact metrics
• Maintain grant calendars, submission deadlines, and reporting schedules
• Assist with grant reporting and compliance documentation
• Track awarded grants and support contract management processes
Qualifications
• Strong writing, editing, and research skills
• Ability to translate program goals into persuasive funding proposals
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines and manage multiple priorities
• Experience in grant writing, nonprofit fundraising, or related field (preferred but not required)
• Passion for supporting women experiencing homelessness
