Gould & Pakter Associates, LLC (“G&P”) is a certified public accounting firm that provides financial forensics, commercial litigation services, internal investigations and financial analysis of disputes; calculates lost profits, economic damages, insurance claims, and earn-outs; values closely held businesses for litigation, family law services, estate and gift tax compliance and bankruptcy and business litigation; traces undisclosed assets and analyzes financial transactions and balances; determines sources of funds used to acquire assets; and reconstructs incomplete accounting and financial information.
Introduction
G&P seeks a Manager-level team member with 6-12 years of experience to join our litigation services practice. The successful candidate will support expert witnesses completing forensic accounting, economic damages, and other litigation services engagements and will work directly with trial lawyers and their clients. This role involves preparing and reviewing primarily financial materials to support expert reports, depositions, mediation, arbitration and trial testimony.
Position
Part time or full time, fully remote, with compensation commensurate with experience. The position is best suited for candidates who enjoy rigorous financial analysis, challenging investigative work, and developing defensible conclusions used in consulting and expert opinions. The role requires strong analytical reasoning, exceptional attention to detail, timely responsiveness, the exercise of professional judgement, and the ability to clearly communicate complex issues in written expert reports and other deliverables presented to trial lawyers and their clients.
Responsibilities
· Support consulting and testifying expert witnesses in economic damages, business valuation, and forensic accounting litigation.
· Support development of deposition, mediation, arbitration, and trial materials for expert witnesses and trial lawyers.
· Lead and manage forensic accounting, economic damages, and litigation services engagements involving primarily mid-sized, privately-held businesses across a wide variety of industries.
· Prepare and review financial analyses of operating and non-operating companies and related parties or entities.
· Analyze financial statements, income tax returns, and accounting records.
· Develop and review financial models.
· Conduct and review industry and market research.
· Prepare and review expert reports, develop focused rebuttal reports, and assemble supporting schedules for all deliverables.
· Perform forensic accounting analyses, including transaction tracing, and reconstruction of accounting books and records.
Qualifications
6-12 years of experience in forensic accounting, economic damages, and litigation services.
Strong analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (particularly Excel and Word).
Exceptional attention to detail and strong communication and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple engagements and meet deadlines in a demanding professional services environment.
Preferred professional credentials include CPA, CPA/ABV, CVA, ASA, CFF, MAFF, CFE, CIRA, CDBV, and similar.
