Apply Payroll Specialist Fully Remote • CA Type Full-time Description   About FitLab FitLab is a performance-driven fitness platform company focused on building and scaling innovative fitness brands and experiences. Our team supports a growing portfolio of fitness businesses, which requires accurate, compliant, and timely payroll operations across multiple entities and states.   Position Overview FitLab is seeking a detail-oriented Payroll Specialist to own and execute payroll processing across our brand portfolio. This role is responsible for accurate end-to-end payroll, maintaining compliance, and supporting employees and managers with payroll-related matters. The ideal candidate brings 3–4 years of payroll experience, is comfortable operating in a multi-entity environment, and has hands-on experience with Paylocity. Benefits experience is a plus. Requirements   Key Responsibilities - Process end-to-end payroll for multi-state employees across multiple business units - Ensure accuracy of wages, commissions, bonuses, deductions, and tax withholdings - Maintain and audit payroll data, including new hires, terminations, and compensation changes - Manage payroll within Paylocity and maintain system data integrity - Reconcile payroll reports and support general ledger payroll tie-outs - Coordinate payroll tax filings and ensure federal, state, and local compliance - Respond to employee and manager payroll inquiries promptly - Support payroll and benefits deduction coordination with HR - Assist with payroll audits and reporting requests - Document and improve payroll workflows and controls   Required Qualifications - 3–4 years of hands-on payroll processing experience - Proven experience running payroll independently - Strong working knowledge of payroll tax and wage-hour compliance - Experience in processing multi-state payroll - Advanced Excel and payroll reporting skills - High accuracy, discretion, and data integrity standards - Strong organization and deadline management skills   Preferred Qualifications - Experience using Paylocity payroll software - Benefits administration or benefits deduction experience - Experience supporting multi-entity or high-growth organizations - CPP or FPC certification (preferred but not required)   Benefits - Health, dental, and vision insurance - Retirement plan options - Paid time off and holidays Salary Description $25-$30 per hour Apply View All Jobs Powered by Payroll & HR Software
