Key Responsibilities
- Lead a diverse cross-functional team, spanning all organizational levels and functional areas to develop and deliver programs from inception to production.
- Manage multiple cross-functional programs simultaneously with competing priorities, driving consistency between Google Cloud processes and central processes.
- Use technical judgment to drive project delivery, technology reviews, challenge proposals, and build consensus.
- Develop and prepare project documentation, process maps, presentations, and tracking reports to provide detailed current status of each project.
- Engage with engineering directors, product leaders, and other Technical Program Management groups to streamline processes, simplify execution, manage Objectives and Key Results (OKRs), release on time, bring tooling for efficiencies, and help the teams you are engaged with in execution.
- Lead and mentor project staff and team members, providing guidance and support to ensure their success.
Essential Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Hardware Engineering, or a technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5 years of experience in program management, with a proven track record of delivering complex projects on time and on budget.
- 5 years of experience working with computer or data center hardware products, with a deep understanding of the technical aspects of these products.
Preferred Qualifications
In addition to the essential qualifications, we are looking for candidates with:
- 5 years of experience managing cross-functional or cross-team projects, with a proven ability to drive consistency and simplicity in execution.
- Experience in software engineering, hardware engineering, computer hardware, with a strong understanding of the technical tradeoffs in product development.
- Experience launching datacenter products, with a deep understanding of the technical and logistical challenges involved.
- Experience running large programs and managing teams, with a proven ability to engage and communicate with director-level and executives.
- A sense of accountability, ownership for the project lifecycle, and knowledge of project management principles and methodologies.
- Technical judgment and understanding of large-scale distributed systems, with a proven ability to drive project delivery and technology reviews.
- Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills, with a proven ability to communicate complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
