About the Role: Part-Time Statistics Analyst I

We're seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Statistics Analyst to join our Details and Examination team within the Details and Data Gathering division. As a Statistics Analyst, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the accuracy and integrity of sports data across blithequark's platforms, including television graphics, the Bottom Line, blithequark.com, Dream, and Game Cast. Your expertise will not only ensure the precision of our data but also contribute to transforming statistics into engaging storylines that resonate with our audience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Ensure the accuracy, timeliness, and intelligence of sports data disseminated by the Details and Data team across various blithequark platforms.
• Work collaboratively in individual and group settings to deliver precise detailed breakdowns, clock-and-score, and other metrics and data in real-time that power a multitude of blithequark products and productions.
• Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the Details and Data's role in fueling blithequark's digital products and television productions.
• Verify the results of your work and that of others, performing with a consistently high level of meticulousness.
• Contribute to productions, projects, and initiatives across the newsroom and support newsroom leaders in coordinating full- and part-time staff.
• Anticipate potential issues, both short-term and long-term, and propose viable solutions. Communicate promptly and unequivocally with colleagues on these matters.
• Play a proactive role in collaborating with partners in developing or refining production processes.
• Actively participate in team and office meetings.
• Seek and respond to feedback regarding personal performance.
• Stay informed about current office policies and procedures.

Essential Qualifications and Skills:

• Working knowledge of teams, players, and the rules of various sports.
• Full schedule availability, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to quickly learn production processes that generate or maintain sports data driving blithequark's digital and television products.
• Capacity to achieve a high level of content accuracy in time-sensitive production environments.
• Ability to communicate confidently, both verbally and in writing, to production managers and peers about production issues and opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications and Skills:

• 1+ year of experience working in sports or statistics, preferably in media.
• Understanding of how sports data is utilized in media and for research purposes.
• Familiarity with blithequark products and productions.
• Experience with Microsoft Excel and other Office applications.
• Experience leading or mentoring a team.
• Ability to speak and write in Spanish.
• Experience using social media in a business or news environment.

Education:

Required: Secondary School diploma or equivalent.

Preferred: Professional education or equivalent.
