**Job Description:**
As a Remote Healthcare Customer Service Representative, you'll be the first point of contact for our members, providing personalized support and guidance on their prescription benefits. Your expertise and empathy will help resolve complex issues, ensuring our members receive the best possible care. You'll work closely with our internal teams, including Prior Authorization and Manual Claims, to ensure seamless communication and efficient resolution of claims.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Handle incoming calls regarding questions about prescription benefits, including copays, medication coverage, and authorization processes
* Educate members on how to best utilize their benefits, including formularies, clinical programs, and appeal rights
* Troubleshoot pharmacy claims in real-time, verifying information, comparing claim results to benefit rules, and entering allowed overrides
* Send documents to providers electronically and follow up with members as necessary
* Anticipate and address questions to prevent repeat calls, ensuring customer satisfaction and reducing customer effort
* Treat all customers with respect and empathy, adhering to HIPAA regulations and confidentiality requirements
* Deliver all relevant information timely, clearly communicating in a manner that ensures customer understanding
* Utilize resources consistently to incorporate changes in our fast-paced environment
* Adapt to fluctuations in workload from slower times to extremely busy times
* Effectively work and communicate with internal teams, including other Customer Care team members, Prior Authorization, and Manual Claims
* Maintain scheduled hours and demonstrate flexibility to aid in coverage
* Support the client mission statement in a professional manner
**Essential Qualifications:**
* 2+ years of prior medical customer service experience
* Excellent phone etiquette and typing skills (40wpm, 500kph)
* Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office and internet required, with the ability to review documents of pharmacy benefits
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Ability to hear needs and translate into correct resolution steps
* Ability to navigate systems efficiently and effectively while speaking
* Ability to balance quality with speed
* Ability to identify root cause of a problem from information presented
* Ability to use resources to solve problems independently
* Reliability, including maintaining your schedule, consistently positive attitude, and professional behavior at all times
**Preferred Qualifications:**
* Experience with healthcare software and systems
* Knowledge of pharmacy benefits and claims processing
* Certification in customer service or a related field
* Bilingual or multilingual skills
