**Job Summary**
We are seeking a highly motivated and organized Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will provide exceptional support to our customers, including patients, referral sources, and employees, by performing tasks related to patient care and third-party reimbursement. You will be the first point of contact for new customers, ensuring that their needs are met and their questions are answered promptly and accurately.
**Key Responsibilities**
As a Medical Billing Customer Support Specialist, you will be responsible for:
* Providing support to customers through phone, email, and in-person interactions
* Processing new orders, responding to questions, and resolving issues in a timely manner
* Collecting co-pays and deductible amounts from customers
* Conducting insurance verification and eligibility for services/products
* Developing and maintaining a working knowledge of current Medicare, Medicaid, insurance regulations, and FDA/DOT and JCAHO guidelines
* Maintaining accuracy and quality control throughout patient contact and data input
* Managing all aspects of initial intake, including answering phone calls, receiving faxes, collecting patient and referral source information, and inputting data into our proprietary system
* Preparing complete and accurate files for the Billing Department
* Providing education to referral sources, patients, and employees on qualifications for service and third-party billing
* Providing product/service information by answering questions and offering assistance
* Providing technical assistance to customers as required
* Working extensively with our proprietary system, eIntake
* Performing other duties as assigned
**Qualifications**
To be successful in this role, you will need:
* A high school diploma or GED equivalent
* Experience with medical billing practices and third-party reimbursement (preferred)
* Experience in the medical field and administrative record management (preferred)
* One year of related work experience (preferred)
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Ability to accurately perform simple mathematical calculations
* Ability to interpret a variety of communications (verbal, non-verbal, written, listening, and visual)
* Ability to maintain confidentiality, discretion, and caution when handling sensitive information
* Ability to multi-task and work independently and as part of a team
* Self-motivation, organized, time-management, and deductive problem-solving skills
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines
* Ability to lift and carry office equipment at times
* Requires sitting, walking, standing, talking, and listening
* Requires close vision to small print on computer and/or tablet and paperwork
