Job Summary

As a Manager - Data Engineering at Puma, you will be responsible for designing and implementing data solutions in the cloud, leading a team of data engineers, and driving the development of innovative data products. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and develop data-driven solutions that meet those needs. Your expertise in cloud technologies, data engineering, and leadership will be essential in driving the success of our data initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and implement data warehousing solutions, including all layers of data architecture (ingestion, storage, serving layer) in Azure cloud.
• Plan and develop data processing solutions using various ETL tools for data ingestion, cleansing, transformation, and workflow management.
• Design and implement data security solutions using role-based access control, masking, and encryption of sensitive data.
• Monitor and optimize data warehousing and data processing solutions using monitoring tools and techniques, such as query optimization and indexing.
• Lead and mentor other team members on technical skills and best practices.
• Oversee partners and drive timely execution of tasks using agile methodologies.
• Build robust and scalable technology solutions in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements and Qualifications

To be successful in this role, you will need:

• A bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
• Profound understanding of cloud technologies and experience delivering large-scale projects on time.
• Excellent knowledge of Azure Synapse Analytics (formerly Azure SQL Data Warehouse), ADF, and Azure SQL Pools.
• Strong expertise in PySpark, Spark SQL, T-SQL, and data modeling.
• Great to have knowledge of Azure Functions (coded in Python).
• Excellent understanding of Agile methodologies to deliver reliable project results.
• Highly analytical with strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ideally, a certification in DP-203 (Microsoft Certified: Azure Data Engineer Associate).
