**Work Overview and Responsibilities**
As a Full Stack Data Scientist at arenaflex, you will provide numerical modeling and analysis services to support critical financial, operational, and strategic decision-making, and participate in supporting project teams in value-added activities that create actionable solutions for complex business issues. You will:
* Develop methodologies and strategies to define and tackle management issues through quantitative analysis and predictive modeling using statistics, AI, and machine learning techniques
* Identify, investigate, or resolve complex issues using large data and analytics, machine learning, and AI principles
* Utilize understanding of the business cycle to identify and implement metrics, estimation, and AI solutions that result in significant bottom-line contributions
* Design and develop metrics, estimation, and AI model applications, and provide client support using data research
* Participate in model design, development, and deployment for multiple projects that occur concurrently, and collaborate with product delivery teams
* Raise concerns when the scope of investigation may not align with the time available and choose a suitable scope of investigation to direct, balancing return on investment to time available
* Plan scientific approaches/foster hypotheses to test
* Identify the limitations of investigation (what it can and cannot be used for)
* Anticipate working group questions to data and approach
* Identify solution quality risks and on-time risks
* Understand the business value, cycle, and expectations before focusing on the choice of a technical solution
* Grasp the intuition behind the numbers (e.g., does it make sense?)
* Provide ongoing analytical services to client associations
* Deliver results to management and clients
* Contribute deck content and assemble the story for the deck with direction to summarize findings
* Create and deliver presentations aligned with AI standards
* Communicate in a manner suitable for the working group and their level +1
* Stay informed about the latest scientific methods and research in the fields of statistics, machine learning, and analytics
**Qualifications**
**Required**
* Postgraduate education (PhD or ABD)
* Insights or other related quantitative discipline, including quantitative analysis and the use of advanced statistical methods
* Coursework or work experience with statistics or potentially estimation methods
* Coursework or work experience in model prototyping through the use of statistical packages (e.g., SAS or SPSS, Minitab, or potentially BI tools)
* Coursework or work experience with C, C++, Java, R, Python, or other structured programming language
* Excellent business, technical, verbal/written communication, presentation, and sales skills. Versatility to changing business climate
* Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to interact with clients
* Proficient with MS Office
* Successful completion of interview expected to meet work capabilities
* Solid, reliable attendance is a fundamental capability of the position
* Must be lawfully authorized to work in the US for any employer without sponsorship
**Preferred**
* Minor in computer science, as well as formal high-level computer science coursework
* 2+ years of professional experience in the analytical field
* 1+ year of experience in the airline industry
* 1+ year of experience planning and programming/coding data structures for large-scale computer models
* Experience with Julia programming language
* Knowledge of arenaflex/industry data sources
* Structured programming for large-scale computer models
* Demonstrated ability to create business value
