Job Description:
I’m seeking a highly skilled, detail-oriented editor to proofread, edit, and assist with preparing several books for publishing. These books cover topics related to professional organizing, cleaning systems, packing/unpacking, productivity, and home/work functionality so familiarity or interest with these subjects is a major plus.
I need someone who can elevate clarity, structure, and flow while keeping the tone personable, professional, and easy to understand.
Ideal Candidate Must Be:
• ✔️ Native or highly proficient in English
• ✔️ Available during Eastern Standard Time (EST)
• ✔️ Experienced with book editing, proofreading, and formatting
• ✔️ Skilled in nonfiction, educational, or instructional writing
• ✔️ Consistent and detail-oriented across multiple manuscripts
• ✔️ Proficient in preparing content for print and digital publishing
• ✔️ Comfortable with content related to organizing, decluttering, systems, home management, business management, and packing
• ✔️ A strong communicator who meets deadlines and collaborates well
Project Scope Includes:
• Proofreading for grammar, punctuation, and readability
• Editing for structure, clarity, flow, and logic
• Ensuring uniform formatting across all manuscripts
• Offering suggestions to strengthen voice and pacing
• Assisting with final publishing prep (covers, layout, photos, formatting, etc.)
• Bonus: Converting content into worksheets, guides, or templates
Deliverables:
• Edited manuscripts (several books in progress)
• Clean, ready-for-publishing files
• Ongoing editorial support as books move toward completion
