The role involves managing all aspects of litigation, including drafting legal documents, appearing in court, and negotiating settlements while ensuring compliance with relevant laws.
Responsibilities
- Handle all aspects of debt collection litigation, including pleadings, motions, and discovery
- Draft and file lawsuits, judgments, garnishments, liens, and post-judgment remedies
- Appear in court for hearings, assist at trials and mediations
- Negotiate settlements and payment arrangements
- Ensure compliance with FDCPA, state collection laws, and court rules
- Communicate effectively with clients, debtors, opposing counsel, and court personnel
- Maintain accurate case notes and documentation in case management system
Skills
- Active bar admission in Colorado
- At least 1 year of experience with debt settlement litigation
- Ability to work proficiently with case management software and keep all files up to date
