Job Title Bid Manager Airlines Summary of the role: The Bid Manager is responsible for leading bid qualification, governance and execution for Airlines vertical. The role ensures Amadeus focuses its presales and commercial efforts on bids that make strategic, financial and operational sense, while delivering high-quality, compliant and differentiated bid responses. Operating as an individual contributor within the Airlines Sales Engineering organization, the Bid Manager plays a critical role in relieving Sales Engineers from bid administration, enabling them to focus on other high-value customer engagements and solutioning. Success in this role is measured by win rate, bid quality, presales efficiency and disciplined bid selection, not volume of bids submitted. This is a hybrid position and would require you to be in the local office 50% of the time. Main responsibilities: 1) Lead bid qualification & governance *Lead structured bid / no-bid assessments for airline RFPs, RFIs and RFQs *Evaluate opportunities against: _Strategic alignment _Solution and asset readiness _Delivery feasibility and risk _Commercial attractiveness and margin expectations *Challenge scope, assumptions and timelines where required *Prepare clear, concise recommendations for management decision-making *Ensure bid decisions are documented, consistent and aligned with Amadeus strategy 2) Lead end-to-end bid management *Own and orchestrate the full bid lifecycle from kick-off to submission (Solutions Consultants and Solution Engineers to be more involved in the RFP follow-up post-submission for the specific functional area(s) under their control) *Define bid plans, timelines, roles and milestones *Ensure compliance with customer requirements and internal policies *Coordinate inputs from Sales, Pre-Sales, Product, Finance, Legal and Delivery *Drive internal reviews and approvals 3) Value proposition and win strategy *Support Sales and Pre-Sales in defining bid win strategies *Ensure responses clearly articulate customer value, differentiation and outcomes *Optimize bid content to maximize evaluation scoring and customer perception 4) Commercial & risk awareness *Partner with Finance and Sales to review commercial assumptions and risks *Identify and flag margin, delivery and contractual risks early *Ensure commercial commitments are realistic and defensible 5) Continuous improvement *Maintain bid templates, standards and best practices *Capture lessons learned and win/loss insights *Continuously improve RFP tooling, bid efficiency and effectiveness Requirements: Technical / specific abilities *Bid and proposal management methodologies *Understanding of complex B2B solution portfolios *Commercial and financial awareness *Risk assessment and decision framing *Proficient in leveraging approved AI tools (Copilot) to improve turnaround time, consistency and quality in a high-volume bid environment Tools *MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint *Proposal and document management tools *CRM and bid tracking tools (Responsive) *Comfortable using AI tools Working at Amadeus, you will find A critical mission and purpose - At Amadeus, you will be powering the future of travel and pursuing a critical mission and extraordinary purpose.
