About the role:
The Atlassian System Analyst is responsible partnering with our Atlassian delivery team to support and uplift the evolution of our Atlassian toolset, combining technical expertise with training to empower teams to make the most of our platforms. This role blends hands-on administration with migration expertise, making you a key enabler of collaboration, quality, and continuous improvement across the organisation.
This role is offered as a 12 month Fixed Term Contract with potential to extend or permanency
Key responsibilities include:
Cloud Migration & Consolidation Execution
- Lead the execution of Jira and Confluence legacy cloud to target cloud instance migrations, ensuring data integrity, traceability, and alignment to enterprise standards.
- Manage consolidation of multiple Jira and Confluence instances into a single target environment, including remediation of duplicated configurations, custom fields, workflows, and content.
Stakeholder & Dependency Management
- Work closely with Technology, Risk, Security, Identity, Change and Delivery stakeholders to manage approvals, dependencies, and migration risks.
- Partner with Atlassian Platform team for migration‑related impacts to delivery teams, including changes to access, permissions, workflows, and reporting.
Testing, Cutover & Issue Resolution
- Plan and coordinate migration testing activities, including data validation, permissions testing, and user acceptance support.
- Own migration cutover activities, including readiness checks, rollback considerations, and post‑cutover stabilisation.
Documentation & Operational Readiness
- Produce and maintain clear migration documentation, including runbooks, decision logs, configuration standards, and support handover artefacts.
- Ensure operational readiness for post‑migration support, including alignment with service management processes and platform administration models.
User Enablement & Post‑Migration Optimisation
- Support user onboarding and transition activities, working with change and training teams to minimise disruption to delivery execution.
- Identify opportunities to optimise Jira and Confluence post‑migration, including simplification of configurations and alignment to standard reporting and dashboards.
Atlassian Suite Administration & Maintenance
- Administration: Manage the full lifecycle of our Atlassian applications, including installation, upgrades, and patches.
- Configuration: Design, configure, and maintain complex workflows, custom fields, screens, and permissions schemes in Jira to meet evolving business needs.
- User Management: Administer user accounts, groups, and permissions to ensure appropriate access and security across all Atlassian applications.
- Integrations: Integrate Atlassian products with other third-party applications (e.g., GitHub, Bitbucket, MSTeams, etc.) to create a seamless development and collaboration ecosystem.
About you:
To be successful in this role, you will have proven track record of partnering with your Delivery Lead to deliver agreed scope, focusing on strategic outcomes and value creation. You brings a strong systems thinking approach and a natural drive for continuous improvement, always looking for ways to simplify, optimise, and enhance delivery.
Knowledge and Experience:
- Proven experience as an Atlassian Administrator, with deep knowledge of Jira Software, and Confluence is essential
- Configure and maintain the Atlassian suite (Jira, Confluence), ensuring the platform remains stable, performant, and aligned with company workflows.
- Translate business needs into technical solutions by designing scalable workflows, automation rules, and dashboards that drive team productivity.
- Manage system governance, including user permissions, security protocols, and app integrations, to ensure compliance and data integrity across the organisation.
- Champion operational excellence by creating self-service documentation, identifying opportunities for AI-driven process improvements, and providing expert support to end-users.
