Job Overview This dual-role position is designed for a highly organized and detail-oriented individual who can provide exceptional phlebotomy services across multiple locations and perform accurate and timely data entry to support our clinical and administrative operations. As a Floater Phlebotomist and Data Entry Analyst at blithequark, you will be responsible for traveling between assigned locations, performing blood draws and other specimen collections, and ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during specimen collection. You will also be responsible for entering patient, specimen, and test information into laboratory information systems with high accuracy, reviewing and verifying data for completeness and correctness, and compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for reporting purposes. Key Responsibilities Perform blood draws and other specimen collections following standard procedures and protocols, ensuring the comfort and safety of patients during specimen collection. Accurately label, document, and process specimens for transport to laboratories, maintaining compliance with all health and safety regulations, including infection control. Travel between assigned locations to provide phlebotomy services as needed, maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked phlebotomy workspace. Enter patient, specimen, and test information into laboratory information systems with high accuracy, receiving, reviewing, and entering patient data into laboratory information systems with high accuracy. Review and verify data to ensure completeness and correctness, compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for reporting purposes, and identifying and correcting data discrepancies or escalating issues as necessary. Maintain confidentiality and security of patient and organizational data in accordance with HIPAA and other regulations, completing data entry in a scheduled, timely manner. Collaborate with management and internal teams to implement and evaluate improvements, understanding and validating record-keeping processes, and understanding healthcare operations and systems. Qualifications and Skills To be successful in this role, you will need to possess a high school diploma or equivalent, with an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in a relevant field preferred. Certification in phlebotomy is required if mandated by the state, and you should have a minimum of 5 years of experience in phlebotomy and data entry, with experience in a healthcare setting preferred. You should also have a minimum of 2 years of IOP experience. Essential Skills and Competencies Proficient in phlebotomy techniques and comfortable working with diverse patient populations. Strong typing and data entry skills with high accuracy and attention to detail. Familiarity with EMR/LIS systems and Google Workspace. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to multitask and manage time effectively in dynamic environments. Reliable transportation and willingness to travel between locations, with flexibility to work different shifts and locations as assigned.
